MACEDONIANS RECOGNISE THE ROLE OF CARETAKERS IN ADAPTING TO CLIMATE CHANGE

At the invitation of its Macedonian colleagues from the Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje and the Macedonian Chamber of Engineers, the Institute for Water participated in a problem-oriented conference ‘WATER MANAGEMENT AND HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING CHALLENGES’, highlighting the added value of retention basins for the local area and their role in the process of adapting to climate change.

In Maribor, at the premises of Dravske elektrarne Maribor, the 3rd workshop as part of the HyMoCARES project, entitled ‘Introduction of the concept of ecosystem services as a support for decision-making’, took place on 15 15 October 2019, the third workshop within the HyMoCARES project took place, entitled ‘Introducing the concept of ecosystem services to support decision-making at cross-sectoral and strategic levels’.

The 2nd national workshop on ‘SEDIMENT MANAGEMENT’ took place

On Wednesday 23 October 2019, the 2nd national workshop on ‘Sediment Management’ took place at the House of the European Union; it was organised as part of the DanubeSediment project (Sediment Management in the Danube River Basin, INTERREG Programme – Danube Region).

2nd National Workshop on ‘Sediment Management’

On Wednesday 23 October 2019, the 2nd national workshop on ‘Sediment Management’ will take place as part of the DanubeSediment project (Sediment Management in the Danube River Basin, INTERREG Programme – Danube Region).
The aim of the workshop is to present the results of the DanubeSediment project, which is due to conclude at the end of November this year, and to outline the challenges we face in sediment management in the future.
The workshop will take place at the House of the European Union, Dunajska cesta 20, Ljubljana.
