An expert consultation was held in Brdo pri Kranju to mark World Water Day, with the aim of strengthening resilience in the field of water management in Slovenia.
IzVRS is participating as a partner in the new European STRIVER project – Strengthening the resilience of transboundary river basins to climate change, with a focus on extreme hydrological events, which is being implemented under the INTERREG Slovenia–Croatia programme.
The project launch agreement was signed on 2 March this year, and the partners met in person for the first time at the project’s kick-off meeting, which took place on Friday 6 March in Novo Mesto.
On 6 March 2026, the Water Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (IzVRS) organised an event in Tolmin ‘For clean waters: ditch the habit, not the waste’, aimed at raising awareness of the issue of waste in rivers and presenting the activities of the international TETHYS4ADRION project. As part of the 2nd Geo Slovenia Conference, organised by the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia, a Declaration of Intent was signed to establish the Geo Slovenia Community, representing a significant step towards bringing together stakeholders in the field of spatial and environmental data in Slovenia.
The Director of IzVRS, Mag. Neža Kodre, presented a new project to develop a digital twin of the aquatic environment at the international conference ‘Digital Solutions for Water Management’, which took place in Portorož on 5 and 6 November 2025.
