IzVRS on World Oceans Day: The exhibition ‘Marine Litter in Slovenian Waters’ highlights the importance of knowledge, data and cooperation

On Friday, 7 June 2025, we at the Water Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (IzVRS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning, opened the exhibition ‘Marine Litter in Slovenian Waters’, which is on display in the ministry’s lobby. The opening took place to coincide with World Oceans Day, which the international community marks every year on 8 June with the aim of highlighting the importance of the oceans for life on Earth and promoting responsible stewardship of the marine environment.
The Director of the Slovenian Water Institute addressed participants at a forum on the challenges faced by women in the development of sustainable tourism in the Sava river basin

Ljubljana, 3 June 2025 – The Director of the Water Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, Neža Kodre, MA, addressed participants at the 1st Forum for Women Entrepreneurs as part of the preparations for the Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism Development in the Sava River Basin. The event is being organised by the International Sava River Basin Commission (ISRBC) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Slovenia.
Commemoration of World Earth Day

As part of the Interreg Aquatic Plastic project, the Water Institute of the Republic of Slovenia organised a specialist workshop on 16 April 2025, to coincide with World Earth Day, entitled ‘Working Together for Waste-Free Rivers – From Problem to Solution’, which took place in Ljubljana.

2nd meeting of the AQPLA project partners and participation in co-creation workshops

On 26 and 27 November 2024, representatives of the Slovenian Water Institute attended the second partner meeting of the AQUATIC PLASTIC project. At the same time, a training session and workshop were held to bring together events focusing on co-creation methods.
