The Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning, in collaboration with the Water Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, will mark World Water Day on Thursday 20 March with an event at the main post office in Ljubljana.
We invite you to join us on Thursday for presentations, lectures and a round-table discussion.

We will present various aspects of water retention in headwaters – on which the existence of glaciers depends – as well as the consequences of climate change and human interventions on altered water runoff patterns. The latter requires the development of sustainable and effective solutions to increase resilience. At this event, held in the run-up to World Water Day, we will discuss options for adapting to hydrological changes and building resilience. We aim to highlight key areas that must be taken into account in the process of strengthening resilience: issues relating to drinking water supplies, the risks of flash floods and landslides, and the need to involve experts in critical processes. A holistic approach is therefore crucial, as watercourses do not recognise municipal or national boundaries.
The Ministry advocates returning space to water, promotes nature-based solutions and is planning measures that do not harm riparian habitats.
Together, we will focus on finding sustainable and effective solutions to increase the resilience of people and the environment – today, tomorrow and in the future.

Slovenian Chamber of Engineers – IZS
Authorised and supervising engineers of the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers can earn 2 credit points from elective modules by participating in this professional training, in accordance with the General Act on Continuing Professional Development forauthorised engineers.
Participants in the professional workshop/training course/conference who are members of the IZS do not need to submit an application for the award of credit points, as the points will be awarded automatically. Participants will not receive any further notification from the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers.
