Water-related jobs in the waste sector

As part of its activities for the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning in 2015, the Water Institute of the Republic of Slovenia is organising a series of awareness-raising events in the field of flood risk reduction in areas of significant flood impact in Slovenia.

ARE WE AWARE OF THE DANGERS OF PLASTIC IN OUR WATERS?

Lecture: Are we aware of the dangers of plastic in our waters?
The lecture will take place this Thursday, 10 March 2016, at 6.00 pm at the City Museum of Ljubljana, Gosposka 15, as part of the WATER exhibition.
Dr Manca Kovač Viršek and Uroš Robič will discuss the issue of plastic in water.

BeWater at the Municipality of Renče – Vogrsko

As part of the European BeWater project, we are continuing our awareness-raising campaign in the form of a travelling exhibition, which is on display in various locations across Slovenia, with a particular focus on the Vipava Valley.

Integrated Solutions for Krakov Forest

Multidisciplinary solutions for Krakov Forest. In cooperation with partners, the IWRS is designing solutions for the protected Natura 2000 site in Krakov Forest. The Forest is drying and finding a solution for its diminishing water levels is essential. The IWRS and its partners will find solutions that will partially help solve the issue of flood safety at Kostanjevica na Krki.

Extension of the DeFishGear Project

We were notified in early December 2015 by the IPA Adriatic Programme that the DeFishGear project (Derelict fishing gear management system in the Adriatic region) has been extended to September 2016. The DeFishGear project was conceived in response to the lack of knowledge and understanding of marine litter.
