September is the time for CLEAN COAST, and we are once again delighted to invite you to the clean-up campaign, which will take place for the eighth time across Slovenia’s coastal municipalities on Saturday, 23 September 2017.
This year, too, it will form part of the world’s largest voluntary clean-up campaign for coasts, seas and lakes – the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) – organised by the Water Research Institute of the Republic of Slovenia and the TRI-NITI Institute. In addition, this year we have joined the MEDITERRANEAN COASTAL WEEK, with the central theme ‘Living with the Sea’, which will take place from 20 to 23 September 2017 along the Slovenian coast.

DRAFT PROGRAMME
10am – 12 noon BEACH CLEAN-UP
Any volunteer, whether on their own or in a group, who would like to help with the clean-up is welcome to join us. The clean-up will take place in groups (5–10 people per group), with one volunteer recording the waste collected whilst the others carry out the clean-up.
We are accepting VOLUNTEER registrations for the clean-up campaign until 20 September 2017 at the latest via the link http://bit.ly/2xDi9db or by email to uros.robic@izvrs.si
We will inform you of your clean-up location and meeting point by email no later than the morning of Friday, 22 September 2017.
12:00–14:00 SOCIAL EVENT (Strunjan beach)
Following the beach clean-up, there will be
REFRESHMENTS for participants and a chance to socialise.
We’re also organising CREATIVE WORKSHOPS for children of all ages.
This year, alongside the sounds of the sea, we’ll be letting ourselves be carried away by the rhythms of music. We’ve got an African drumming workshop with Bojan Turk (if you have your own djembe, bring it along; otherwise, you can bring a bucket too 🙂 ) + we’re encouraging all music lovers to bring their own musical instruments so we can create a “jam session on the beach 🙂 “
And one more thing!
The ice-cream parlour in Koper is treating all volunteers coming to Clean Coast to a scoop of the best ice cream on the coast.
Thank you for sharing our event with your followers and friends!
