Assessment of the current situation regarding the presence of microplastics in municipal wastewater treatment plants (case study: VOKA Celje)
At the Celje Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant, microplastic sampling is carried out under various operating conditions at the treatment plant (high and low water levels, high and low water temperatures) and at various stages of wastewater treatment (inlet to the treatment plant, pre-aeration, sludge, outlet from the treatment plant). Wastewater is sampled both by skimming and using a net adapted for microplastic sampling.
