At the Museum of Architecture and Design in Ljubljana, you can visit a travelling exhibition entitled ‘Final Stop: the Sea?’. The exhibition has been shown in more than 17 cities around the world and is on display at the museum until 23 April 2017.
The exhibition sheds light on the background to the problem of plastic and its devastating impact on the seas, wildlife and humanity. It presents the most common types of plastic and raises questions about consumption, health risks, microplastics, the material’s life cycle and bioplastics. The centrepiece of the exhibition and a symbol of the ecological disaster is an installation of plastic debris from the world’s oceans, collected by the exhibition’s partners during clean-up operations in Hawaii, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.
The Slovenian Water Institute is also participating in the exhibition by providing expert support, guided tours and workshops for children.
The project and the accompanying travelling exhibition are being carried out with the support of the Drosos Foundation.
