On Monday, 15 September 2025, a workshop entitled: ‘Climate Resilience: From Source to Sea’, organised as part of Mediterranean Coast Week and macro-regional strategies. The Slovenian Water Institute (IzVRS) also played an active role in the event.

In his presentation “Blue and Green Infrastructure in Spatial Planning”, Dr Sašo Šantl emphasised how a holistic approach can contribute to climate resilience.

In his presentation, Dr Tine Bizjak outlined the current state of microplastic pollution in the sea and measures to reduce it.

The event brought together representatives from ministries, international organisations, experts, local authority representatives and the wider public, who had the opportunity to listen to interesting presentations and take part in a discussion on solutions for a more resilient future for our waters and coasts.

On this occasion, IzVRS organised an exhibition that guided visitors through the challenges and opportunities associated with water management and climate change.
