Technical guidelines have been drawn up with a view to the long-term conservation of the huchen population in Slovenia, specifically in the Middle Sava region. These technical guidelines, which, in addition to a detailed review and assessment of the status of the huchen population – including its genetic status – include a proposed action plan with recommended measures for the conservation of the huchen, the preparation of which incorporated modern multidisciplinary approaches and methods for assessing the current status, the impacts of water use, and measures to improve the situation.
